Information about Berkshire angling for coarse and game species
Berkshire holds vast numbers of fishing venues, and the diversity meets the need of any angler. The east and centre of the county tend to hold the large mature gravel pits favoured by specimen carp and pike anglers. Additionally Berkshire county holds some amazing river angling spots thanks to the presence of the Kennet, the Loddon, the Whitewater, the Blackwater, and of course the Thames into which all of these flow.
The upstream reaches of the Kennet, plus its tributary the Lambourn, provide some river game fishing options. Dotted across Berkshire are numerous lakes and small ponds in countryside and on farms, with some urban stillwaters present at Bracknell and Reading amongst others. In the vicinity of Theale and Reading some huge gravel pits are present, and accordingly offer specimen angling for pike, bream, tench and carp.
