River Blackwater

A guide to fishing the River Blackwater

Much of the River Blackwater forms Surrey’s western border. The river arises in Rowhill, near Aldershot. Upstream of Lakeside Park in Ash is it just a stream of little use to an angler; however, downstream of this point it gains depth and width as it flows past Mytchett and Frimley. Thereafter, as it passes Camberley it is a fully fledged river and consequently offers fishing sport to anglers until it exits Surrey beyond Yateley on its way to joining the Loddon.

At Camberley and Blackwater there are several quality stretches of River Blackwater providing angling, and at Yateley some excellent stretches of river are available for fishing.

Following Yateley the River Blackwater enters Berkshire and joins with the River Whitewater shortly before joining the Loddon at Swallowfield.

Below is a list of fishing venues from upstream to downstream, split in Surrey and Berkshire; scroll down for a map for these venues.
