Location

This stretch of river is between the B376 Staines Road and the Thames, between Wraysbury and Staines. It is the last part of the Colne Brook before it joins with the Thames and is close to the west side of the M25, north of Egham and north west of Staines.

Description


Korda Lake is a large gravel pit in the Colne Valley supplying specimen carp angling via membership of the British Carp Study Group on day or season ticket. The venue holds many bays and peninsulas along with some islands, and since it is part of a nature reserve it is subject to a close season. Korda Lake Location

Korda Lake is sited at Harefield, south of Broadwater Lake on the west side of the Grand Union Canal. Moorhall Road runs to the south of the venue. Additionally, Korda Lake is part of the Broadwater Park Nature Reserve, which in turn is part of the Mid Colne Valley SSSI. UB9 6NS.

Heron Pond Location

Heron Pond is located within the famous royal Bushy Park, on the east side of Chestnut Avenue, to the north east of Diana Fountain. This is the central of three lakes that run across the eastern part of the park. KT8 9BN. The lake is not far from a major car park.

Thames Fishing at Laleham

River Thames, Laleham is a long stretch of river supplying free coarse angling. The river is wide and deep and holds all the usual coarse species including carp. Much of the west bank is tree lined, whilst the east bank holds many spacious swims which are often flat and grassy. Some parking is available along the Thames Side road which lies behind the riverbank, and there is a car park with pay and display. North of where Thames Side road swings away from the river and into Laleham the towpath continues along the river, but much of the bank is private land.
