Angler amenities

The River Thames provides river fishing in the Staines area and holds the typical coarse river species; meanwhile numerous lakes in the area supply season ticket fishing for large carp and general coarse fish. Specimen tench and bream are on offer at Staines Lake, whilst specimen catfish and carp are available at Moor Lane Lake. Moor Lane Back Lake contains big carp, tench and bream, and similarly Moor Lane Front Lake offers angling for pike and specimen carp and tench.

Staines has a tackle shop; Davies Angling (47-49 Church Street TW18 4EN).

The town has a large retail presence for an angler to stock up for fishing trips, and adjacent to Davies Angling is the Two Rivers Retail Park. This contains a Waitrose. On the west side of the Thames there is a Sainsbury’s based on the south side of The Causeway (TW18 3AP).
