A pleasant stretch of the Thames providing free angling in Chertsey, with many swims. 

Parking is available at two council car parks on the Meads (Car Park A and Car Park B) and many swims are within easy trolley distance of these.

More secluded swims can be found at the east end of the Meads.

River Thames, Dumsey Meadow is a pleasant stretch of river providing free fishing in Chertsey, with many swims. Dumsey Meadow can be accessed from a small car park next to Chertsey Bridge, or from a pay and display car park on the south side of Chertsey Bridge Road. The east end of the Meadow can be accessed via a public footpath, with parking possible around the entrance to Old Littleton Road.

A small number of swims are available either end of the bridge.

Thorpe Road Lake runs alongside the south side of the M3 between the A320 and the B388. Accessed from the B388 in north Chertsey. Car park adjacent to the lake, behind a locked gate.

Description


Thorpe Road Lake is a tree lined water, silty with gravel margins, providing specimen angling for carp and bream in Chertsey. A variety of swims throughout the lake. Fishing is also permitted on the east bank of the Bourne (one rod only).
