The lake is directly north east of the junction of the Basingstoke Canal and the A331. It is accessed from Lakeside Road near the junction with Vale Road (the gate is on the west side of the rail tunnel). GU12 5AB.

Thorpe Road Lake runs alongside the south side of the M3 between the A320 and the B388. Accessed from the B388 in north Chertsey. Car park adjacent to the lake, behind a locked gate.

Thorpe Road Lake is a tree lined water, silty with gravel margins, providing specimen angling for carp and bream in Chertsey. A variety of swims throughout the lake. Fishing is also permitted on the east bank of the Bourne (one rod only).
