Description
A long stretch of the Thames offering river fishing in Molesey. Fishing is free, and there are numerous swims along several strips of bankside that can be accessed from a variety of points.
The upstream section is accessible only via the towpath and is remote from parking areas. The downstream half of the section is readily accessible via Hurst Park which is accessed on the west end via Ferry Road and in the middle by Sadlers Ride.
Ferry Road and adjacent streets have ample free parking, and there is free parking along Sadlers Ride and at its end point in the park. Note that the car parks in the park itself are within the no fishing zone.

Hemp for the roach works. For chub try close to the boats on the far bank, and try a leger 3/4 the way across, back-leaded against the current which is not too heavy in the summer. The bream run in shoals, so if you can get on them you may be in for a big bag.
The carp are more likely to be caught in the downstream section, but a part of this – 400 metres downstream of the ferry in Hurst Park – is closed to fishing as it is part of a new conservation area.
