Location

Oxford is the major conurbation of the county of Oxfordshire, and sits in the centre of the county. The city is accessed via the A40 and A44 and A34, with the M40 just to the east. OX1 1ND.


Angler amenities

Oxford fishing is dominated by river angling with the presence of the River Thames, and the River Cherwell. Match and pleasure angling is available on the Oxford Canal which runs northward out of the city.

Oxford has a fishing tackle shop at Top Tackle, 334-336 Abingdon Rd, Oxford OX1 4TQ.

Oxford has several supermarkets to stock up for fishing trips. There is a Sainsbury’s in the town centre at 21 Westgate, Oxford OX1 1PA.  In the south east of Oxford, near Cowley and Iffley, there is a large Sainsbury’s at Unit 1 The John Allen Centre, Between Towns Rd, Oxford, OX4 3JP, and also a Tesco Extra at 7 Oxford Retail Park, Cowley, Oxford, OX4 6XJ.
