Location
Ashford is a large town in the centre of the southern half of Kent. It lies on the M20, A20, A28 and A251 between Maidstone and Folkestone, to the south of Canterbury. TN23 1AS.
Ashford angling amenities
Ashford and the surrounding areas contain a variety of lakes which provide diverse angling options.
Pleasure angling is available south of Ashford on the Royal Military Canal between Appledore and Ruckinge, and also east of Ashford at Evegate Fishing Lake, Hothfield Lake and Aldington Lake. To the east fly fishing is on offer at Stowton Trout Lake.
Specimen coarse angling is supplied to the north east of Ashford at Conningbrook Lake which holds large carp, bream and tench. Specimen carp and catfish are available at Charlies Lakes in Kingsnorth to the south of the town.
Singleton Lake in Ashford provides pleasure fishing on a season ticket and just north of the town Eureka Fisheries offers pleasure fishing on a day ticket basis.
Ashford has two fishing tackle shops. On the south side of the town there is Angling Direct at 94, Ellingham Industrial Estate, Ellingham Way, Ashford TN23 6LZ. On the east side of Ashford there is Invicta Angling, 94 Hunter Ave, Willesborough, Ashford TN24 0HG.
Ashford has several supermarkets for stocking up for fishing trips. On the north side of the town there is a Sainsbury’s at Simone Weil Ave, Ashford TN24 8YN. There is a Tesco Extra on the east side of Ashford at Hythe Rd, Willesborough, Ashford TN24 0YE. In the centre of the town there is an Asda at Kimberley Way, Ashford TN24 0SE, whilst to the south there is another Tesco Extra at Moatfield Mdw, Kingsnorth, Ashford TN23 3LU.
