Canterbury and District Angling Association has eleven lakes and a long stretch of the River Stour in the Canterbury area of Kent. The club has a Trout Section for fly fishing.
Most of the club’s venues are sited in the Canterbury area. The city lies about two miles south‑west of Fordwich and 23 miles east of Gillingham, placing it firmly in the eastern part of the county of Kent. Canterbury is roughly 55 miles east of London, which helps show how it fits into Kent’s wider geography.

Birch Lake, Littlebourne
Birch Lake is a small water offering season ticket angling for tench and large carp in the Littlebourne area of Kent close to Canterbury.
Bramble Lake, Littlebourne
Bramble Lake is a small water offering season ticket angling for small carp and tench in the Littlebourne area.
Brook Lake, Minster
Brook Lake is a rural farm reservoir supplying coarse angling via season ticket in the Minster area. The lake is a pleasure angling water and holds the larger fish of the two lakes.
Fordwich Lake
Fordwich Lake is a medium sized still-water offering specimen carp fishing via season ticket in the Canterbury area. Bream, tench and pike are also present. The venue holds many islands, bars, and gullies.
Grove Lake
Grove Lake is along, thin water with numerous bays and a large promontory that dissects one end of the lake. Depths vary up to five feet and offers fishing for gudgeon, roach, rudd, tench and carp on a season ticket.
Jade Lake, Minster
Jade Lake is a rural farm reservoir providing coarse angling via season ticket in the Minster area. The lake is a pleasure angling water and holds smaller fish.
Pump Lake, Littlebourne
Pump Lake is a small water offering season ticket angling for mid-doubles carp plus small tench in the Littlebourne area.
River Stour, Fordwich to Plucks Gutter
River Stour, Fordwich to Plucks Gutter is a lengthy stretch of coarse river offering angling for carp, tench, chub, barbel, trout, pike, rudd and more via season ticket. Trout fishing is also permitted during the club’s season. The venue sits in a rural setting in eastern Kent.
River Stour, Fordwich Upstream
River Stour, Fordwich Upstream is a trout fishing section of river in the Sturry / Fordwich area available on a season ticket. Members must join the club’s Trout Section to fish here.
Stonar Lake
Stonar Lake is a large gravel pit in east Kent offering coarse angling via season ticket. The venue holds carp into the thirties, plus bream and other silver fish. Angling is not permitted from the north and north west banks.
Stour Lake
Stour Lake is a triangular, medium sized still-water providing coarse angling via season ticket in the Canterbury area. Carp and general coarse fish are present. The water holds an island, bays, and overhanging trees.
Trenley Lake
Trenley Lake is a narrow, medium sized still-water offering coarse fishing via season ticket in the Canterbury area. Carp and general coarse fish are present. The water holds many island, bays, promontories and overhanging trees.
Trout Pool
Trout Pool is a small lake with several islands providing fly fishing in the Canterbury area. Fishing is for club members on a day ticket basis. Fishing is by artificial fly only.
