Location

Maidenhead is a large town lying in the northern part of east Berkshire, west of Slough, south of Cookham, with the River Thames to its east and the M4 to its south. SL6 1QU.

Angler amenities

River fishing is available courtesy of the Thames, while a series of fisheries to the south of the town offer lake fishing for carp, catfish, and general coarse fish.

Sheephouse Fishery is located in north Maidenhead and is a deep lake supplying coarse angling via day ticket. The venue holds a good stock of tench.

Pondwood Farm lies to the south west of Maidenhead and offers five day ticket waters holding catfish, carp, tench, bream, rudd, roach, and perch.

Finch Farm Fishery has two rural lakes with islands offering day ticket angling south of Maidenhead; species such as carp, tench, bream and rudd are present. Close by the New Farm Cat and Carp Fisheries are present which offer three day ticket waters for big carp and cats.

Maidenhead no longer has a fishing tackle shop. There are two nearby fishing tackle shops: to the south of Maidenhead is The Tackle Shack at Finch Farm Fishery, Drift Road, Hawthorne Hill, Maidenhead SL6 3ST, and to the east Angling Direct has a fishing tackle shop at 26 Buckingham Ave, Slough SL1 4QA.

Maidenhead is home to several chain supermarkets where an angler can stock up for fishing trips. Sainsbury’s is present at Providence Place SL6 8AG. Tesco has an outlet at 65 Nicholsons Lane SL6 1LL. On the west side of the town lies a Budgens at 9-13 Highway Avenue SL6 5AG.
