A practical guide to fishing in the River Loddon
The River Loddon is a major tributary of the Thames. It arises at Basingstoke and flows into Berkshire near Stanford End. It then is joined by the Blackwater at Swallowfield, flows between Aborfield and Shinfield, swings round Reading, flows through Dinton Country Pastures at Hurst, heads north and joins the Thames near Wargrave. The Loddon provides some superb fishing with quality chub and barbel to be found in the Berkshire stretches.
