The River Wey is a tributary of the River Thames and joins the Thames at Weybridge (the Wey Navigation joins via Thames Lock, while the river joins at Thames Street).
From Weybridge up to Guildford it mainly feeds and runs alongside the Wey Navigation although at some points the River Wey merges with the Navigation as one waterway.
Upstream of Guildford it feeds and runs alongside the Godalming Navigation, and is joined by the Bramley Wey which originates at Walliswood.
Upstream of Godalming it is simply the River Wey until Tilford.
Upstream of Tilford it is split into the Wey North Branch (through Farnham to Alton) and the Wey South Branch (through Lindford to Black Down).
