Lyne is a village directly west of Chertsey mainly established around Lyne Lane and Almners Road, and south west of the M3/M25 interchange. KT16 0AN.

Fishing in the area is supplied by Lyne Lake on the north side of the village and by Hillswood Lakes on the south side of the village. Both fishing venues are season ticket.

There are no fishing tackle shops in the village. The nearest fishing tackle shop is the on-site tackle shop at Thorpe Lea Fishery, Thorpe Lea Road, Thorpe, Surrey TW20 8PG, and after that Davies Angling (47-49 Church Street, Staines TW18 4EN).

There are no supermarkets or general stores present. Nearby Chertsey provides the nearest shopping and supermarket. There is a farm shop on Hardwick Lane KT16 0AA which provides greengrocer and butcher services, along with milk, bread and cakes.

The village has one pub, the Royal Marine. This has a pleasant rear garden, a car park, and serves food and a good selection of real ales.
