Location
Godstone sits over on the eastern side of Surrey, in that stretch where the county starts blending into Kent and the edge of Greater London. It’s part of the Tandridge district, so you get that classic Surrey countryside feel but with really easy access to bigger towns and the motorway.
If you picture the map, Godstone is only about six miles from Reigate and a short hop from Oxted — just three miles or so. London isn’t far either, roughly eighteen miles to the north, and Guildford is about twenty‑two miles to the west.
One of the reasons people know Godstone is because it’s right by Junction 6 of the M25, and the A22 runs straight past it, so it’s a bit of a crossroads village.RH9 8DT.
Angler amenities
Coarse angling is provided in the Godstone area by Bay Pond which is run on a season ticket by a local angling club. The lake holds carp to upper twenties, bream to 6lb, pike, tench, roach and perch.
Game fishing is available in Godstone at Leigh Mill on a syndicate ticket basis. The venue holds blue, brown and rainbow trout.
There are no fishing tackle shops in the town. The nearest fishing tackle shop is at Warwick Wold Waters, Warwick Wold Road, Merstham, RH1 3DG, to the north west of the town. Further afield the nearest fishing tackle shop is Caterham Angling due north of Godstone at 1-3 Raglan Parade, Caterham on the Hill CR3 5UG.
In the town there is a small supermarket to stock up for fishing trips: Godstone News and Village Shop, 61 High Street, Godstone, RH9 8DT. In Caterham are the nearest chain supermarkets:
