Location
Rochester is a small town in the north of Kent, adjacent to Chatham, at the mouth of the River Medway. The Rochester postal area also cover the Medway Peninsula to the north of Rochester. ME1 1EW.
Angler amenities
Coarse fishing in the Rochester area is provided by the Burrows Lane Fishing Club lake on the Medway Peninsula, and the Blue Lake to the south west of Rochester at Halling.
Burrows Lane fishery (previously known as Stoke Fishery) is a set of four rural lakes overlooking the Medway estuary supplying coarse angling and carp fishing via season ticket.
Blue Lake is a large open still-water (a former chalk pit) with a big peninsula running from the south bank, offering day ticket and season ticket angling for big carp.
Rochester does not have a fishing tackle shop, but just outside the town in nearby Chatham there is Rod & Line Angling Centre at 12 High Street, Chatham ME4 4EP.
Rochester does have supermarkets to stock up for fishing trips. In Strood, across the Medway from Rochester town, there is a Morrisons at Knight Rd, Strood, Rochester, ME2 2BD. Also in Strood there is an ASDA at 108-110 High St, Strood, Rochester, ME2 4TR.
