The Basingstoke Canal Angling Association has been for many years the fishing club with rights to the Canal. Membership was obtained directly from the club, or via membership of the numerous angling clubs who were affiliated. However, the BCAA has been replaced by the Basingstoke Canal Authority which is a brand controlled by Surrey and Hampshire County Councils who jointly own the Canal.
From 2025 it has been announced that the BCA will be selling tickets directly, and no longer via angling clubs.
