Stiff rigs

A stiff rig is a term relating to the hooklink where the line between the lead and the hook is made from a relatively stiff line; this can be mono, coated braid, and even braid within a fine piece of no spook tubing.

As ever there is a virtually endless variety of options ranging from supple line to material almost at coat hanger wire level. Generally the breaking strain is a guide to how stiff the material is going to be. Colours vary and it is wise to consider the water clarity and the general make up and colour of the lake bottom where the rig will be used.
