Marker float

Using a marker float

Typically used on a bespoke marker rod with a heavy test curve, the marker float will require a large lead of around 4oz to counterbalance it. This enables long distance casting and the main line in use on this rod would usually be braid which would enable the angler to accurately plumb the depth of any area of water within reach and to tell from the feel of the line what the composition of the bottom of the lake is.
