Leadcore

Leadcore is fishing line used in carp angling where the line is a textile tube surrounding a thin core of lead.

It is thick and heavy compared to normal line, and it generally used at terminal tackle end to disguise the fishing line as it approaches the baited rig. Leadcore needs to be connected to the main line, and is used as a substitute for no-spook tubing. Being heavy it can hug the bottom of the lake, minimising the risk of spooking wary fish, and the textile outer layer can be made in many colours.
