A braid rig is a term relating to the hooklink where the line between the lead and the hook is made from a floppy textile based material; this can then mimic a free bait when carp activity moves it on the bottom.
Braids can be many colours, different breaking strains, and can be coated; coating is used for many purposes: to reduce tangles, add weight in order to pin the hooklink down, protect the braid from abrasion, and to add camouflage.
