Location
Godalming is to the south of Guildford, on the east side of the A3. GU7 1HR. The Wey Navigation provides canal fishing locally, while the River Wey and its tributary the Bramley Wey offer river angling in and around Godalming. Numerous lakes in the vicinity supply coarse fishing on season or day tickets, with carp fishing available at Broadwater and Bramley Mill. Fly fishing is available to the south west of Godalming at Winkworth.

There are no fishing tackle shops in Godalming. However, in adjacent Milford there is a tackle shop at Apollo II Angling Centre, Marsh Farm, Station Lane, Godalming GU8 5AE.
Two supermarkets from the main chains are present in the town to stock up for fishing trips.
