Description


Sonning Eye Pit is a very large lake with islands, and split by a peninsula, supplying coarse angling and specimen carp fishing on a season ticket. Carp to over fifty pounds are present, along with pike and tench. A sailing club is present, and much of the Sonning Eye lake is out of bounds to anglers. Sonning Eye Pit is on the west side of Sonning village, which itself is on north east side of Reading. It lies on the north of the Thames, due east of Caversham, south of Play Hatch village. Access is from the B478 Whistley Mill Lane. RG4 6TU.
