Fishing in Theale
Theale is located to the west of Reading. It is just west of Junction 12 of the M4. RG7 5BZ.
River fishing around Theale is available courtesy of the River Kennet, while canal angling is provided by the Kennet & Avon Canal; both on a season ticket basis.
Fly fishing in the Theale area is supplied by Barn Elms Fly Fishery to the north of the town, and at Haywards Farm just south of the railway station.
Day ticket coarse angling around Theale is provided at Island Lake, with carp fishing available at Theale 1 and Theale 2 lakes. Theale Green Lake offers pleasure angling on a season ticket, while Ameys Pit provides specimen carp fishing also on a season ticket.

There are several pubs in Theale. To the south of the town in Sheffield Bottom is the Fox and Hounds at Station Road, RG7 4BE. This is just south of the fishing tackle shop and near to several fisheries. The town centre (High Street / Church Street) holds many pubs: from east to west the Bull at 41 High St (RG7 5AH), the Falcon at 31 High St (RG7 5AH), the Red Lion at 5 Church St (RG57 5BU), the Crown Inn, High St (RG7 5BT), and the Volunteer at 65 Church St (RG5 5BX).
