Chertsey is a small town north of Addlestone between St Ann’s Hill and the River Thames. The town possesses several opportunities to fish the Thames, while The Bourne provides numerous options for small river fishing. Fishing lakes around the town hold a plentiful supply of carp fishing and pleasure angling.

There are no tackle shops in the town, the nearest is Davies Angling (47-49 Church Street, Staines TW18 4EN).

Supermarkets consist of a Sainsbury’s (1 The Sainsbury Centre, Heriot Rd KT16 9AG), a Co-op (92 Guildford Street KT16 9AD) and a Tesco Express (Eastworth Road KT16 8DX).The main shopping area lies along Windsor Street and Guildford Street. There is a small market on Saturday mornings.

The town does possess a number of pubs. The Thyme at The Tavern, 20 London Street KT16 8AA (which won the CAMRA north Surrey pub of the year 2012), and The Crown at 8 London St, KT16 8AP are both near Sainsbury’s. Opposite the Co-op lies the King’s Head 103, Guildford Street KT16 9AS. On the west edge of the town is the The Golden Grove, St. Ann’s Hill Ruxbury Rd, KT16 9EN.
